Amsterdam, September 1st, 2005. Shooting from all
angles. Nikon has combined superb design and cutting edge technology
to develop the COOLPIX S4 compact digital, featuring a swivel
lens that helps tackle even the trickiest of shots, from close-ups
or scenic shots to self portraits or dramatic action images.
Sales start in September 2005 at a price of xxx Euro.*
The S4 features a 10x optical zoom range from 38-380mm (35mm
equivalent), so users can focus in on subjects as close as
30cm – or even 4cm in macro mode. This makes it the ideal
camera for shooting portraits, detailed architecture or sports
and delivering razor sharp images.
The swivel
design means greater flexibility, and keeps the COOLPIX S4
compact, small and flat – unlike many of its bulkier,
heavier competitors with similar zoom-range – with 6 megapixels
resolution.
The S4 also includes all the exclusive features for which Nikon
digital compacts have become renowned - such as D-Lighting, which
highlights underexposed areas, Face-priority AF which automatically
finds the presence of a human face to apply focus and exposure
and Red-Eye Fix which gets rid of the annoying red eyes in camera.
In addition, the large 2.5-inch LCD screen makes it a pleasure
to review shots and control the subject even when taking pictures
with extreme angles.
The COOLPIX S4 exploits the speed and convenience of SD cards,
which are widely used in a range of other consumer devices, and
is powered by commonly available AA batteries, rechargeable Nikon
batteries or an optional AC Adapter.
